What are the responsibilities of a Media Activation Specialist at GroupM?

  • Research and Planning: Understand the clients’ target audience's media consumption and use this information to plan effective media buying strategies.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate with media sales companies to secure competitive prices and optimal placements for the clients’ ad messaging.
  • Purchasing Ad Space: Buy advertising space or time on media platforms such as TV, radio, online, print, and outdoor.
  • Campaign Management: Oversee the launch and ongoing management of advertising campaigns, ensuring they run smoothly and achieve their objectives.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze campaign performance using metrics and our bespoke analytics tools, adjusting as necessary to optimize results.
  • Budget Management: Manage campaign budgets effectively, ensuring that investment strategies are on track.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports detailing campaign performance and provide recommendations for future campaigns.
  • Learning and Development: Continually learn about the company's products or services, industry trends, and best practices.


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business or Information Technologies (the position is not suitable for a student).
  • Experience: Proven experience of at least 1 year as a Media Buyer or in media marketing management; experience in digital media is welcome.
  • English: B2


  • Tech affinity: You are no stranger to technologies, can whip up a script or two and you are at home with Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Effective Communication: Articulate your thoughts and ideas and be able to actively listen to understand and respond accordingly.
  • Preparation: Understand the details of the topic, knowing your audience, and prepare for what may lie ahead.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Think creatively and outside of the box, identify the problem, but also think of the solution.
  • Flexibility: In technology driven areas, things may change on a whim, be adaptable and open to change and new direction.
  • Integrity: You are honest, reliable, and sticking to your commitments.
  • Persistence: Obstacles are part of learning, be persistent and determined to reach your goals and targets.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Understand and respect cultural diversity.
