What You Will Do

• Lead the development and enhancement of the backend for our SaaS payment platform, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Build and maintain web applications in collaboration with a cross-functional team, including frontend engineers, testers and product managers.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality standards and guide team members in best practices and coding guidelines.
• Mentor and lead a growing team of backend engineers, ensuring cohesive and efficient collaboration according to defined guidelines.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, and proactively integrate them into the development process to continuously improve the product.
• Work closely with the teams located in Vienna and Cologne, regularly visiting the Vienna office, especially during the onboarding phase.

Your Profile

• At least 5 years of experience in backend development, ideally in FinTech, payment or banking sector.
• Initiative and hands-on mentality in the development of software components.
• Cooperative, team-oriented way of working with openness for new things, high quality standards and a true service orientation.
• English proficiency at a C1 level (native or near-native fluency). Other European languages are a plus.
• Valid work permit for Slovakia and ability to work in the office in Bratislava at least 2 days a week.

• Java (at least Java 8) and Spring Boot 2/3
• JPA + Hibernate
• Relational DBs & SQL
• Software development lifecycle including agile development
• Distributed architectures
