About the Role

We're looking for a Production AI Engineer to own the backend systems powering Timo. This isn't a research role, you'll be building and scaling AI agents that connect directly to live property management platforms, APIs, and guest communication channels, and making them work reliably in production.

As an early joiner to our engineering team, you'll shape technical direction from day one,
not just execute tickets. As we grow, this role grows into a technical lead position, with
an option to become part of the founding team.

What You'll Own

● Agent systems – design and deploy production AI agents and workflows using LangChain,
LangGraph, or equivalent LLM frameworks.
● Python backend – build and maintain the core intelligence layer powering Timo.
● PMS integrations – connect AI agents to hospitality platforms such as Mews
and Cloudbeds via tool-calling and API layers.
● Voice & real-time – develop conversational and voice agents using LiveKit, ElevenLabs,
Bland.ai, and similar technologies.
● Production reliability – monitor, debug, and continuously improve agent
behavior in live environments.

What You Bring

Required

● LLM experience – hands-on shipping of LLM-based applications to real users.
● Frameworks – LangChain, LangGraph, or similar agent orchestration tools.
● API integrations – designing and owning backend integrations from scratch.
● Core concepts – solid grasp of context engineering, tool calling, and agent orchestration.
● 5+ years of Python development experience, you write production-grade code, not just scripts.

Nice to Have

● PMS experience – Mews, Cloudbeds, Opera, or similar.
● Voice AI – LiveKit, ElevenLabs, telephony, SIP, or voice pipelines.
● RAG & vector DBs – familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation architectures.
● Automation tooling – n8n or similar workflow orchestration experience.
● Track record of delivery – you've taken products from concept
to launch with customer adoption.

What Good Looks Like

In your first 30 days, you'll own the PMS integration layer and have Timo running reliably in at least two live hotel environments. By month three, you'll be driving architecture decisions independently and mentoring the next engineer we hire.
